on 10/21/2023 Love this Michael Morris.

Deeply moving how he name-checks his feminist sources, and a deep connection to Black female power as a White male, that didn’t feel performative, but authentic. Yes, for modern dance shout-out Anna Halpern!

I am FED! I am yelping, chanting, cheering, etc to the Falling/Choosing Love episode. Took me maybe three hours to listen through because I had to rewind to actually absorb the goodness from amb and Autumn. I’m sitting in my backyard, and my neighbors are having their Memorial Day party— conveniently, the Celtics are playing, and so I have coverage for my outbursts!

on 5/1/2023 Deep wisdom shared with love

These two sisters are so brilliant AND warm AND funny AND so very human. I could listen to them in conversation about anything. They make my life better in so many ways, not the least of which is growing my appreciation for my own wonderful sisters.

on 4/30/2023 Truly life giving

I adore these two so much and this podcast allows me to imagine that I am actually in their inner circle (which I want so bad, but would be so awkward and inarticulate, so probably listening to the podcast is better.) They offer hope when and where there is none, and continuously offer evolution and radical imagination as ways forward in these dark times. THIS is the future.

on 2/24/2023 Feeds my soul! Sound editing could be improved

First off, adrienne and Autumn are producing an amazing show here. I have learned so much about myself and the world through their conversations with one another and the guests they bring on. I love the space they give to difficult topics, and the thoughtful lens through which they analyze them. My one critique is that they could use a sound editor to balance the volume. They can speak very quietly at times, so I turn up my volume, and then they laugh so loudly that my ears get blown out! I truly love the laughter and I don’t want them to change, but if someone could balance the audio, this would be a much easier listen for me. The audio issue has been a huge complaint from friends that I’ve shown the show to, and I wish it could be adjusted because the content is amazing.

on 4/10/2022 This show means so much to me

I’ve been meaning to write a review for a while. This show has changed my life—not in the sudden hairpin turn that phrase evokes but in a slow shifting deep within me. I listened to the first episode driving to pick up a friend from the airport in fall 2019. A few days later, another friend needed a ride, and I got to listen to it all over again, sharing it with my friend. For anyone just starting this podcast, I recommend starting with the very first episode of the first season. After that, go ahead and listen to more recent episodes, or pick whichever ones look good or go ahead and listen to them all in order, but I really think you should listen to the first one. This podcast has been with me through so many transitions, ones that appear individual and those that are easily seen as collective. adrienne maree brown’s beautiful piece “in case it helps/ bell hooks asé” came just when I needed it. I listened over and over, letting loving tears fall easy. I love so many things about this show. I love the love that Autumn and adrienne show each other. I love the way nuance is tended to. I love how it shakes me into reckoning with the past, present and future but does not let me try to do that alone. If you’ve read this far in my review, you should really go ahead and listen to the show.

on 3/23/2022 A must listen if you can access / handle the sound quality!

Love love love the hosts and content, and wish I could listen more often / fully!! Having autism, it’s very hard to listen due to the sound quality, sometimes the sound / volume is very very low and hard to hear, and then the next sentence someone will be scream laughing or yelling into the microphone and I have to turn it off and recover. 100% celebrate the emotions behind the delivery but find the sound changes / quality inhibits accessibility.
